Tips From the Pro
Tim Sheridan, resident Golf Pro at Austad’s Golf in Sioux Falls, offers these helpful hints for those first timers playing miniature golf:
Putting: There are two keys to help you eliminate short-putt pressure.
- Stay Still: If your head doesn’t move, neither will your body. With your body steady and your arms in control of the stroke, you’ll have fewer moving parts to synchronize.
- Grip Lightly: A tight squeeze creates tension. Light finger pressure and soft wrist and forearms throughout the motion will increase your chances of hitting your putts where you aim them. To achieve the correct pressure, hold the club as if you are holding the steering wheel of your car on the open road.
